OK so heres the deal. My 1989 Wrangler keeps shutting off on me. It'll be running fine and then the power just cuts off. Its happened on the freeway a lot, and just in general keeps dying on me. I think it has to do with the fuel pump.
When it shuts down fuel goes into the exhaust pipe and it collected in the muffler and ignited and now my muffler exploded. I don't know what to do to fix it.
It also shuts down a lot more going up hill......?
Start by looking for loose or shorted wires in the ignition system. you shouldn't be getting fuel in your exhaust if you have a fuel delivery problem.
"But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." - Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, 1782
Arguing with a truck driver is like wrestling with a pig in mud, eventually you realize the pig enjoys it.
just a thought. my engine was swapped out and it is carburated. i have already yanked out the whole ac system and all the wiring that went to the fuel injection. im trying to get it down to the bare minimum so can i pull out the module all together. wat all does it do? thanks
