1991 gauges all screwed up

Whats up guys. Hope everyones doing well. Well i've been searchin these boards as well sa others in search of an answer and just keep getting lead to questions without answers so maybe someone can help me out and it can get stickied idk. Okay so to start off with when i got the jeep the dash lights did not work as well as the temp gauge. i determined it was the rheostat to blame for the dashlights since it would only work at a certain spot on the wheel so i used a jumper wire and fixed that problem. now while i was looking with a light-up 12v meter on the plug on the back of the gauge cluster all my other gauges went out. when i turn the car on the fuel sky rockets the volt gauge does nothing and the temp will stay at the bottom no matter how warm the jeep gets but the clock is still working. the fuel gauge was working fine until i started probing the plug on the back looking for power. i have checked the ground on the firewall inside the engine bay as well as the one attached to the parking brake they are fine and have a good clean connection. is there a ground i can splice into on the harness and ground it that would go to the gauge cluster? im pullin my hair out now. if anyone can give some insight i would be more than greatful.

well they just started working the other day. then when i popped the e-brake they all went haywire again so it gotta be that ground on the parking brake. Gonna relocate it somewhere at a good ground
