Idles around 2,000 rpm as soon as it warms up. It was shooting up to 2,500-3,000 when I would slow down. Mechanic replaced the intake gasket which fixed the really high idle but it still doesn't go any lower than 2,000.

Map sensor
Throttle position sensor
Idle control valve
Vacuum lines
Throttle body gasket
Throttle body has been cleaned with card cleaner several times. Other than the idle it has no mechanical issues.no check engine light and I disconnected the battery for 30 min to clear all faults. It got better after the battery disconnect but only for 10-15 miles. No one can figure it out.
Use carb cleaner and spray around vacuum lines and gasket areas for intake and throttle body area, carb spray will change idle if vacuum leak, sounds like you have replaced or cleaned everything else.
No luck with the carb cleaner on the vacuum lines. It has a really bad timing chain knock. I going to change that and see it it helps before I take it back to the shop for the idle. Could the timing chain slop cause it to idle high?
If your exhaust manifold isn't properly seated or the bolts are loose, it will create this problem. Any time I've dealt with high idle problems, it was because of this
Yep, I put on a fresh manifold gasket yesterday. Problem gone. Runs like a champ now.
