Recently, I found that the line running from my Fuel Pressure Regulator to the intake was not connected. After connecting it, the engine idled really low ~200 and would act like it was going to die.
I decided to replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator and after doing so everything seemed to working ok. I also cleaned out the throttle body and the IAC valve. I was getting a much more smooth idle and it was at ~800-900. After about four days, I started having an issue when starting. It will crank and start but it can take 10-15 seconds to get it to fire up and when it does it's a low RPM and it kind of sputters on.
Pressing on the gas and cycling the key a few times to get the pump to come on doesn't really help anything. I'm also getting issues accelerating in 3rd and 4th. I'll be accelerating and it feels like the power just drops out of it and it bogs down. I'm not getting any backfiring or other issues.
I know that I'll need to check the fuel pressure and I'm going to be picking up a gauge this weekend. Anyone have any ideas on a next step?

You can diagnose the TPS by using a scanner that sees real time data. Look for proper voltage at idle then very slowly depress the gas pedal watching for an gradually increasing voltage with no drop offs or dead spots. You can also use the scanner to adjust your TPS.
A scanner like that isn't something you can pick up at a parts store ( at least not that I am aware of). You need a scanner that can read real time data from an OBD1 system such as a Snap-On MT-2500. TPS voltage can also be read by use of a voltmeter and leads that can probe the proper TPS wires but that is more complicated than it sounds.
At this point you probably will be better off seeking professional help, paying for equipment is a heck of a lot more money than paying for diagnosis.
I was thinking the same thing but it ran well for 3-4 days when it was installed. I got it from Oreilly and everything seemed to be working well with it.
I'm currently going through the same problem. I have orderd a CPS and Map sensor on ebay. Im just going the route of buying new parts and throwing it at it till one fixes it lol. Have you ran seafoam through your tank? It can clean your system rather well. Mine started running a hell of a lot better after i ran it.
I'm a little hesistant to use the seafoam because I have 161,000 miles on it and I've heard that seafoam can cause leaks to appear in higher mileage engines. Just don't want to end up with more problems that I have.
Not sure if this would help the diagnosis, but it seems like if I let it try to start for a few seconds and then turn it off and wait, it will crank right up.
So this morning I replaced the TPS and afterwards everything seemed to be working much better. After driving it for about 30 minutes and then letting it rest for about 30 minutes, I started driving on the interstate and it was bogging down even worse.
Not sure where to go from here really. Thinking maybe I'll try to replace the pressure regulator again and see if that makes any difference.
I'm having trouble diagnosing mine too. Its starting to get demoralizing. I wish you the best of luck.
