1995 Jeep Dashboard and Tail Light Problems

About a month ago my speedometer light stopped working, i thought nothing of it until my entire dashboard backlights stopped working about a week ago. In addition to my dashboard lights going out my tail lights stopped working at the same time. I've checked all the fuses and started messing around with the wiring but have had no luck. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a grounding issue to me. I would track down grounding locations (sounds like maybe you just have one bad ground, and it is affecting the whole system) and go from there. Other than that, I got nothin'.

If you have to ask what it is or what it does, you don't need it, and you will need help to install it!

Try to look for a blown fuse but also possibly a bad Tail Light switch or relay...

Sounds like a bad Knuter valve, and you maybe low on blinker fluid. Check those and get back to me.

Na...just kidding. Have you checked the fuses under the hood? The speedo backlight might just be burned out since it went by itself. The rest of them going out could be a poor connection on the on the back of the dash or maybe a bad ground. You might want to get a FSM or Haynes manual with a schematic in it and start probing around with an ohm meter for bad connections. Don't know what else to tell ya. When mine started to act up I just built a whole new one.

Alright I went through the fuses and relays, i didn't see any blown fuses but there was no fuse or relay in particular that stated it was connected to the tail lights or dashboard. I'm having difficulties locating a bad ground and am starting to wonder if I should change the light switch panel thing. whatcha think
