Possible blower switch........does it come on when in HIGH position only...... or does it come on randomly.....

If it is random, could just be a lose connection.......get up under dash and see if you can unplug/plug connections on switch and motor.

When it does not come on, tap on the case with something and see if it starts to work.If it does, you could have brushes getting worn out and making bad contact. Then you would either need to rebuild or replace. Dont think it is the resistor because it works intermittently even on high.

I was having the same problem on my 88 yesterday. Blower would randomly come on when I hit a bump while driving. I found the connector was loose at the fuse block where the fuse plugs in. I removed the fuse block, one bolt under hood at firewall, two Phillips head screws interior fire wall. From rear of fuse block, removed wires for blower motor and tightened female connectors with pliers. Put back together and works flawlessly. Hope this helps.
