Talking 1st Jeep! / 95 2.5 Engine Rebuild

Hey guys whats going on. I'm gonna be picking up my 1st jeep this week (Ill post pics later)

1995 Wrangler Red with soft top and half doors. 2.5/5-Speed.
The only thing im worried about is the 177K its got on it. I know itll run fine for a bit but im sure by next summer itll be due for a rebuild. Clutch's are straight forward, but i helped my buddy rebuild the engine on his S4 and it was a pain in the ass...i know the 2.5 won't be nearly as bad but i was wondering if someone could give me an idea about how bad itll be. Also some tips for down the line would be great. THANKS!

-Wissam

there will be no need to rebuild that engine as long as its mantained. that engine just like the 4.0 if mantained will go 300k easily.

cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter. front and rear diff service, transfer case service, transmission service, coolant, brake fluid, and clutch fluid if applicable.

the beauty is you can do every maintenance yourself, spend a few hundred bux and have it in tip top shape. check your serpentine belt also.

i noticed the serpenine belt when i looked under the hood but no timing belt or chain. i (jokingly) asked the guy at the dearlership if the timing and serpenitine are one in the same and he said yes....could this be true???

I would recomend buying a manual, you can learn alot and it sounds like it will save you alot of money.
You should know some about engines if you helped rebuild one. They are all pretty similar.

never is a timing belt and serpentine belt the same. your engine has a timing chain, don't worry about it.

Dude, that's so awesome lol. Like, bringing the past to present.

My friend has a 4 banger with a clacking noise. Needs new lifters but he's going to swap the engine out for a 4.0
