2.5 bell housing bolt pattern

I know the older 2.5 were GM and the newer 2.5 used the same bolt pattern for a while. My question is do they still use the GM bolt pattern? Does the AX-5 then have the GM boltpattern?

I am doing a OM 617 Mercedes diesel swap in an 89 YJ.

If they are the same then it would be easy to bolt up some stronger GM trans.
