2.5 distributor installation

Hi guys !

My car is 1990 YJ Wrangler (4 cylinders 2.5 liters). I was trying to fix an oil leak coming from the distributor, so I've removed it, but I think I've disturbed the oil pump slot inside the engine which sets the correct ignition timing

How can I be sure now that the timing is correct ? Besides, I don't know if there is an easy way to find the "compression stroke TDC" of the #1 cylinder on these engines...

Is there somewhere a procedure to properly reinstall this distributor ?

Thanks

I honestly have no idea for an answer to your question, but wanted to let you know that you're gonna catch some sh^t for calling your rig a "car."
I got over it fairly quickly...good luck with your distributor thingy...

OOPS on your part. No bid deal though. First things first you'll need a timing light. Second youll need an extra person or take it to the shop. Chances are you messed up the timing. If you do it your self you just need to turn your distributer untill your timing marks line up. Should be about 6 Deg past 0 if i remember correctly. But youll know by how its running.
