2.5" lift RC with lift shackles?

Hey guys, i want to get a 2.5" RC lift for my yj and maybe some lift shackles. I was wondering if i got the lift shackles with it to give it more lift, if it would effect anything later on?

Not to hijack but I am curious about this too, I have a 3.5" susp. lift with worn springs and was thinking of adding 2" lift shackles to my now 2.5" lift.

You really shouldn't go more than an 1" - 1 1/2" lift with the shackles max. It will affect your steering. I have a 4" RCD lift with 5/8" boom shackles. I have a drop pitman arm which brought the drag link back parallel with the track bar. If you don't address the steering you can have potential problems with bump steer and death wobble. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with not going over 1-1/2" on the shackles. I'm running
1-1/4" shackles right now with a 2-1/2" susp lift on the way. This way you don't have to worry about lowering transfer case and all that jazz.

I already have a drop pitman arm, t/c drop kit, bump stop extentions, track bar relocation brackets and longer shocks.

i have a 4" rough country lift and put 2" lift shackles..drop pitman arm, transfer case drop. right after i went out and bought the rugged ridge "cross over" one ton steering kit. i used daystars greasable shackle bushings and the ride isnt too bad.

at higher speeds i feel the truck darts alot and i just got a full alignment/camber adjustment so i know thats fine. my trackbar just received brand new prothane bushings as well. i also had a brace welded between the steering box and passenger side frame.

Sweet guys thanks. Ya I heard going any more than like 2" on the shackles is too much. Any suggestions on what shackles I should get?

youll save money in the long run, the rough country kit comes with the pitman arm and transfer case drop you would be stupid to get the 2.5 and get shackles.

But I hear you have alot of different problems if u get the 4" lift. I would love to get it, but I don't want to have to spend alot later on. What's your advice?
