2.5L Compression Check

Need some opinions, I have a 2.5L 1995 wrangler with 153K on it. Compression readings are

Dry Wet
1. 150 160
2. 140 150
3. 150 170
4. 160 170

are these reasonable for the age of the engine, i dont have any smoke or oil usage but want an opinion as to the health of the mighty mouse. thanks

These sound good to me. But please get a second opinion. The way I perform the test is to pull out all spark plugs. It is standard to have the engine turn over 7 rotations. Things to look for is at least 90psi on the first stroke. Make sure the battery is fully charged, a low battery could show low compression as you complete all cylinders. If there was a problem with a cylinder, a small amout of oil poured in the cylinder will point to the valves or piston rings. It the compression goes up with the oil it is probably the rings or cylinder. I hope this helps.

those numbers look fine, especially for 150k. you have a healthy baby.
