Are you looking to swap a particular component or the whole system?

If you have a Phillips screw driver you can get HIDS. Go to eBay. Plug and play. Simple.

troof. they are ebay lights and they are horrible. light is unfocused and scattered. they look cool as hell though. I am working on a set of sealed beam HIDs. Should work much better.

you can get a universal kit anywhere. as far as a decent sealed projector style housing I am not sure if a kit exists.

Im interested in more info on this flowmaster. I also want a fix for my exhaust, its beyond screwed up. A model number would be great, I would love to be able to just go and pick it up at auto parts. Btw, what did the kit you purchased include?

the retrofit kits are just bulbs/ballasts. pretty much plug and play. you have no way to focus or aim the light though. One night I was lighting up trees on the opposite side of a 4 lane highway. Oncoming traffic hated me and I was always waiting for a cop to stop me. I have since pulled them out.

What I was thinking about... The exhaust starts on the driver side. Then it bends to the passenger side and goes back. Why does nobody just go from the manifold and go straigh back? Skip all yhe bends and turns. Be a little easier.

Don't run it on the Driver's Side. The fuel filler is back there and a little spilled fuel could get very ugly in a hurry!

Good call...

So for exhaust options ive seen Flowmaster, straight pipe, glass packs.

Straight is "illegal" so its looking like Flowmaster VS. Glasspacks

Whats everyones opinions?

Not to mention ANY HID retrofit is illegal in all 50 states. Without even understanding the entire optics and differences between HID and Halogen, you may be mis-lead into thinking HID's are going to give you better light.

Nothing is farther from the truth. The truth is, HID's improperly fitted into a shaped reflector, or a reflector with a fluted lens, that is designed for a Halogen bulb, will yield less distance throw and penetration. In laymans terms: HID's give you less light to see with. You need to spend time fitting in a proper Projector to use the HID light properly.

You put in a V8 engine. The 4 cylinder doesn't have the same sound characteristics as a V8, so it will NEVER sound like a real V8.

call me old fashioned but I like the stock exhaust note. replace with a high flow cat and an OE muffler. unless you have a high revving screamer of an engine(you dont) you really wont need performance exhaust. Hell I have all the bolt ons you could throw at a 2.5 including the pacesetter header and it didnt make a lick of difference performace wise.
