2.5L to 4.0L conversion?

Would you guys suggest swapping out my 4 cylinder engine for a straight6? How much work does that require and around how much would it cost? The 2.5L is just WAY TOO SLOW and i wont be able to take it on the beach with a 4 cylinder nor could i tow anything.

you need everything from a jeep with the 4.0 engine, transmission, transfer case, all the electronics. most say its not worth it and that it would be easier to just sell ur jeep and buy one with a 4.0

unfortunately it is way easier, better, and cost efficient to sell the 4 banger. it is just as much work to swap a 4.0 in a 4 banger jeep as it is a 350 or any other engine. no one wants to hear sell your jeep, because we become attached to the jeep we have, i know i am. after owning both 4 banger jeeps and 4.0 jeeps, i'll never buy a 4 banger again.

having said all that, after getting all the parts for a donor, engine, trans, t case, accessories, computer, wiring and all, the other big problem is the motor mounts are different. the 4.0 motor mounts are further forward than the 4 banger, so some fabrication required.

It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president."
