4.0 tb on a 2.5?

I have read that a 4.0 tb will fit on a 2.5? If so is there a big difference in power? Is there very much modification involved? I have a totally rebuilt 2.5 in my 89 yj that is .30 over and she has a lot more power than before just trying to get all I can out of my 4 little hamsters!!!

Your 89 should be TBI not sequential fire

^Yes, the increase in HP is generally minute, it takes a whole slew of parts to really wake the engine up.

Like mentioned, you have a TBI model, the 4.0 engines were MPFI, so it won't work unless you can somehow figure out how to wire your 89 sensors to it, as well as mount the injector inside of the 4.0 throttle body...

That's what I figured. Its likely a more responsive throttle because of the larger opening.
