4.2 weber carb fuel pressure?

hey guys i have an 87 with the 4.2.
it has a high pressure fuel pump i believe it is 13psi so i got a fuel pressure regulator and i want to no what the fuel pressure should be? i was told that it should be 6-7 but my regulator is only 1-5.5 so i dont want to open it unless i no that it will work.
