4.56 gear ratio?

I;m thinking of putting 4.56 gear ratio in the front and rear of my 87 Inline 6cyl.
it has a 4" suspension with 33"tires.
Eventually ill do a spring over conversion on the yj and maybe go5.5" suspension lift

Opinions? what do you guys think?

Well if your going bigger 5.5" lift are you going bigger tires?

If so why not find a used Ford 8.8 with 4.10 gears and just regear the front. Might cost a little bit more and not be the perfect gears, but will give you less headaches in the future.

With new gears you should baby them for about 500 miles before any serious driving. Breaking them in properly makes all the difference. Sounds easy but no quick starts or driving above 60mph and 30 min or 40 miles of driving = the need to let the axles cool for 30 mins.

I see you have a trip to the desert.
It took me about a month to break mine in

Is it the front or rear that you lost the s-gear tooth? Maybe we can fix you up with a temp fix with out Regearing to get you back on the road. What gears are you running? I have some items that might get you going.

If you busted your rear spiders look into a Spartain locker, easy fix and your locked after the install.

And It was the rear with a D35.
Would spider teeth from a D30 fit my 35?

With the 2.5 I would go with 4.88s with 33s, your 2.5 already has 4.10s in it so make it worth it... but that's my 2cents so let's see what others say

Hey what's up? I found the lights the clear lenses are $50 and the HIDS are$40 both free shipping I don't know how to put the links up but the item numbers are for the lenses 400145620852 and for the HID's 270686915557 .on EBAY if you can't look them up like that just write down your email and that way I can go on eBay and through there I can send you the links I just don't know how to do it on the forum.

Depends. Automatic 2.5L came with 3.73. If it's an auto on 33's, stick with the 4.56. If it's a manual, go 4.88.
