4.6 stroker

Anyone ever buy a 4.6 stroker motor? I'm thinking of putting one in my jeep sometime and I was wondering how good they are

I'm slowly building my own, if done right they are great, unless you don't want to almost double your power.

I have the Golen 4.6 stroker with a supercharger. Other than a broken rocker arm in the first month, I have 37,000 trouble free miles so far.

Runs well around town and LOTS of power on the highway. As you may expect, MPG is poor, but that's the price for high performance. The motor was only the beginning, lots of other stuff to consider. I ended up having to do several things to accommodate the stroker/supercharger such as adjustable fuel pressure regulator, larger injectors, air intake, header, exhaust, and aluminum radiator - lots of extra expense involved. Also, you want to make sure your tranny and drivetrain are up to the challenge. I do not have a moments regret. My Jeep is a blast!

No, haven't had the opportunity. I am afraid I'd let the results go to my head.

Can you share any more? Eaton SC- M90?, how much boost? Which injectors? How did you tune it? Any boost timing retard? Any pics?
Sorry for all the questions, I just like to see what other have done.

Looking at your signature, you probably know what I have better than I do!

I have a Jeep guru that does all the heavy lifting/technical stuff. We used an M62 from a previous 4.0L so I'm only getting about 4# of boost. We also had to use the intake manifold and power steering pump from a TJ to get it to fit, but it does fit under the stock hood. Installed a JET Performance Stage 2 Module. It started out running incredibly lean, so we ending up putting in a Hesco adjustable fuel pressure regulator and 24# injectors. It has run flawlessly ever since. I have Borla header and Flowmaster, but currently no cat, it must have fallen off on the trail somewhere. NV 4500 tranny with the standard NP231 TC and D44 rear end. Still running the D30 in front. 4:56 gears on 35" tires. If I had it to do over, after all the work and expense, I would go with an M90. On the positive side, with the M62, it will be a little harder to blow up this motor. Hopefully one day I will get a chance to put it on a dyno.

Sounds great. 4 pounds boost still makes a big difference. Low enough to not need any timing retard and the charged air temp stays low enough to not need an intercooler or meth injection. Even when the M62 is optimized with smallest pulley, larger TB, etc, the M62 is pretty much maxed out on the 4L at 6 pounds boost. The Renix systems are still a mystery to me. I love to see more boosted jeeps.
