4 low

i just bought my 95 yj and when i put her in 4 high it runs great but when i go to four low it just grinds, i stop completly and have the clutch in when sifting to 4 and 4 low cause thats wat i was told to do, sometimes i can get it in 4 low but if i get up to 3rd gear it seems to pop out and grind. so does anyone know wats going on here

Is it lifted, it may be too high and your linkage brackets may need to be relocated.

4L is basically for crawling (lierally, not just on rocks). What are your rpms and speed when it pops out?

Lengthend Cable

It sounds like a cable adjustment issue.

There's an incredibly week adjustment point on the transfer case to put your Jeep into 4 low. It's just a simple bolt. 10mm I think.

A slacking cable could keep you from getting into 4 low, especially if a former owner was hard on the shift knob inside the cab.

it is lifted and the rpms are normally low when it pops out (if i can even get it going) ok so most of you seem to think its the linkage wich is wat i thought now i just have to figure that out lol

I have the same problem on my 2000 TJ. I'm going to check this out tonight. Maybe this is the answer.
