4" shackles bad?

I just have a 4" shackle lift on my jeep. People say it will be better if i just get a full 4" suspension lift. What will this make better? And how much would this be?

I didn't even think 4" shackle lifts existed....you'd almost definitely be better off with suspension lift

To achieve a 4" lift via shackles they'd have to be 8" longer than stock.......Stockers are 4" C-C, so yours would have to be a foot long?

Lifting by shackles really decreases your approach angle

If they're truly 4" lift shackles then they'll be a foot long as whiteyj said. You'd almost certainly have death wobble, or it would wander so damn much you couldn't hope to steer it.

If you only have 4" LONGER shackles (2" lift) it still isn't that great. Most suggest not going over an inch of lift to maintain manageable caster.

I have a pair on mine ”4in longer” it gave me about 2in of lift. When I'm offroad they bite in every thing. I don't like them at all in fact I'm currently looking to get the true lift spring.

I'm guessing those are 2 in lift shackles, probably 4 inches longer than stock. Mine are 1.25 lift and are about an inch and half or so shorter looking

Would it benefit a lot if I switched to a full spring lift?
