My son is looking at a 95 wrangler with the 4 cylinder with an automatic trans 135000 miles on it. I have no experence with the 4 cyl auto trans. any issues with these setups. i always have have 4.0 with manual trans.

i believe it is all stock. thanks for any infor if you have any.

The 2.5 is a good engine, the auto trans is good also, but from what I've seen that combo is Nut-less in a Jeep.

I got a 2.5 with a 5 speed not great either, but does better then the auto. I would hold out for one with a 4.0

I run a 2.5 and an auto...The trans are the TF 904's...they were put behind many small block (318's) V8's... I've had no issue with it turning 32" tires for over 10 years...just added 36"...time will tell!

I would stick with the 4.0 or a 4.2 with a manual trans. However, if you want to keep him out of the fast lane opt for the 2.5 auto.

Thanks people, I'm not really concerned about speed and neither is he. I just make sure they are dependable and not a lot of issues with the transmission, exspecially at 135000 miles. thanks

I just pulled my 2.5 automatic with 134,000 miles. Ran just fine except for going up hill or into the wind...gutless but dependable.

Put it in 4L and it would go anywhere!

I was going to give it to my son when he turned 16. Putting in a Chevy 5.3L now. Poor kid will be taking the bus now!
