4WD light

1990 YJ with 4.2. 4wd light is always on with transfer in 2wd. 4wd drive seems to work. Just got this jeep. My front drive shaft is engaged is this a big problem. Where should I start trouble shooting at.

the vacuum actuator on the front axle may have been bypassed

not really a problem, more of an upgrade

check here to correct the light:

I don't think it has solid tubes in it. If the cad goes bad does the light come on sort if like a fault indicator? Seems like vacuum lines are hooked up correctly. However the vacuum resivoir under the battery does not have any lines on it! Now what?

if you don't have any vibes in the front driveshaft, leave it
they may have just locked the collar in place to engage the passenger side axle

Cool, I don't feel any vibrations so I guess I don't have to worry about 4WD not working. Cheap fix!
