4x4 dosen't work HELP

I have a 87 yj witha 4.2 carb
i was wheelin yesterday and when i went to use my 4x4 it didn' work after getting the car home i started lookin stuff up
i checked ll my vac lines and their all hooked up right i didn't look at the switch with the lil ball but other then that it seems that i checked everything car runs fine just the 4x4 wont work


4h don't work at all and when i put it it 4L the car seems liek the hand brake is in it just kinda revs hight but dosen't go anywhere if any one ca he me it woudl be a big help

first off your jeep is not a car second run a vacumm line from a port on the carb to the front shift motor use this to see if the motor is shifting, if not there is a whole stickyed write up on this forum about changing them.

I'm not to familiar with yjs but I would maybe take off the linkage from the transfer case and put it in 4 wheel se if that works (maybe linkage is adjusted wrong) then if that doesn't work jack all 4 wheels off the ground then carefully start it up put it in 4wd and see if the driveshaft is spinning, if not maybe bad transfer case, if it is spinning and the wheels aren't turning maybe bad differential.

see if you have vacumme at the disconnect motor on the front axcel on the front port on the motor
if you do you might need a new motor just did this to mine got the parts from 4wheeldrive.com i had to replace the motor 79.99 and they
ship for free hope this helps
