87 4.2L blower motor install

Got no heat and weather getting colder. Time to replace blower motor. Anything special I need to know before I attempt this. Jeep has no ac. Any help will be appreciated.

Got the new blower motor. Anyone ever done this before. Should I start at the engine side of the firewall. The manual says to take apart the dash is this correct ?

heres a thread on replacing the heater core, pretty much the same steps for the motor. check the diameter of your replacement motor, i think I read that only the newer motor is available and you will have to enlarge the hole in the firewall.

Thanks for the link. I took out battery and tray and found the wire to the blower motor was disconnected. Cleaned it up plugged it in and motor works fine. Thanks again. Glad it was an easy fix

I wish. Everything else on this old YJ has been difficult to say the least. But glad she was good to me on this one. Now on to the fuel sender and replacement stock exhaust. Mine is rusted to shit and the cat is breaking up. Should be a fun project. Love working on her though
