87 wrangler.. gear shifter

My gear shifter has alot of play in it. Is this a complicated fix, or can I repair it without removing my transmission?

If it is an automatic, there is an adjustment linkage right below the drivers feet. You pull down on the vertical rod while pushing up on the horizontal (after loosening the lock-nut) then retighten the lock-nut.

Nope. No that I'm aware of. Mine has a bit of play in it. But it's also 25 years old. Long as its not bouncing out of gear, you're good.
