87 YJ Won't Hold Idle

My 87 YJ (straight 6 4.2L) stalls whenever it goes below ~1200 RPM. I did a brief visual inspection of the vacuum hoses in/around the carb and they all seem in good shape. Any idea of what it could be?

Thanks,

Adam

Thats most likely the symptoms of jeep putting in the crappiest carb ever.

Ditch your carter bbd and go with a weber or do a mc2100 junkyard swap.

carb and idle problems gone

After much deliberation I think I'm going to go with the weber conversion, I found a kit on ebay that claims to have everything I need for just under $300. Is that a decent price? I know the Weber kicks ass for a bunch of reasons and my baby is worth it

Thanks!
