Im posting because we can't figure out what's going on with our Jeep I have installed a mechanical pressure gauge directly to the motor and am bypassing the troublesome factory gauge. the readings we see on the new gauge are 100% accurate since oil is actually being pumped from the engine directly to that guage. we have an oil line running under the dashboard now that feeds oil directly to that guage so we can read the pressure in real time. The pressure goes anywhere from 60 down to 20 but every now and then will drop to 0 at idle. Its an 88, 4.2 liter carbureator, not fuel-injection. Any suggestions.
