89 Hardtop replacement - which years or glass

Hi,

I recently purchased an 89 YJ 4.2 with a factory hardtop. Last weekend the glass for the lift gate (rear window) was shattered and I want to replace it. Only problem is I can't find anyone selling new or used heated rear window glass for my year. I don't have a rear window wiper.

I have been searching CL and found that it will probably be less expensive to just buy an entire hardtop.

What years will be an exact replacement for the factory hardtop that I have now. I looked at newer years and they don't have the turn handle on the lift gate portion (just below the glass) that mine does.

Thanks for any help you can provide as I'm trying to find and buy one this Thanksgiving weekend so I can use my Jeep for deer camp on Monday.

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving,

Ok, some YJ's have t-handle tops and some do not....either way the tailgate holds the lid down. Now, I have seen several new ones on ebay for 150 or so in the last few days from a guy in georgia.

Thanks big.

What years did the factory hardtop come with the t-handle?

I looked at mine closer and it appears that the t-handle controls latches on the ends that hold the hatch closed.
