'89 manual trans ID

I have an '89 XJ with 6cyl and manual trans. My question is, how do I determine which transmission I have?

i believe u have the peugot (sp?) ba10 not as good at the ax15... they always put the ba10 behind the 4.2 during the 87-90

If I remember correctly. The BA10 is split lengthwise so you can see the two halves from directly under the jeep and the other ones are split so you can see the two halves of the case from the side. i could be wrong about that.

They fazed out the ba 10 by 1990 so some 89s have the ax15.
Now the ba 10 does split lengthwise. I will find some pics for ya!

The BA10 is about half the width of an AX15. It's wickedly skinny.
