89 wrangler 2.5

I have a rebuilt 2.5 that will not oil on the number 2 lifter. Have changer lifter and pushrods. I think something is stopped up. Motor run about 500 miles before this problem. Need some help. Have tried everything but flushing the motor. Has 50lb oil pressure but pull valve cover and that lifter and rocker arm are dry. Sounds bad because lifter not working.

Must be an oil galley clogged up internal. Other than a flush or a tear down I have nothing.

Is there a plug behind the timing cover that can be taken out to clean the hole oil port out?

There may be an access plug there. As far as a flush I have never done one but Seafoam seems to be the choice here.

I also don't have any experience inside the 2.5 but on other engines yes there should be a plug.

I to have never rebuilt a 2.5, but there should be an oil port drilled all the way through the block from front to back in the line of the lifters, pipe plugs with alien socket head in each end.
pull all the lifters and rod it out, or if you can reach down in side that lifter hole with a wire to clean ports on both sides.

Have you pulled just that lifter and cleaned it?

Great, remember to change the oil, sea foam and some time there's fines left in the block after machine work.

Awesome news must have been some thing left behind during the rebuild.

How long do I run sea foam before changing oil? It says run to next oil change but I no he can't do that. Would it hurt to run 100 miles or so or change now?

I hope that was all that was wrong is the rebuild but I have never run in to this before. First jeep I have worked on. I have built ford and dodge motors and never had a problem. I did not build this one and was helping a friend and it had me clueless. Never built a four banger but now I no a lot more about them. Thanks
