89yj steering

I have a lot of play in my steering and it's annoying trying to keep the car straight on straight roads and even worse on the highway I got a steering alignment in January and if I tightened the bolt on steering box would that help?

Tightening the bolt on the steering box may help, but not likely. It sounds like you need to tighten your front spring shackle bolts. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN them or your ride will suck. I run WITH a front track bar and still had to make sure the shackle bolts were snug so the steering is responsive.

Give them a bit of torque and it should remove wander and torque steer.

It could be your steering box is shot. I have tried to adjust the steering box but it did help.
