91 4 cyl. Bogging, hard to start

Hello all:
I have a 91 4cyl and for some reason as soon as I thought it was running better than ever it started running sluggish. Not accelerating much at all and now very hard to start. Once it starts its on but I'm sure it doesnt have much power? I only know that it starts because my father cranks it for about 5 minutes until it starts. Any help or suggestions? In dire need of help here. I just replaced the clutch a couple of weeks ago and have no problems with that since but now another issue...

any codes?

Also, when you turn the key to "on" can you hear the fuel pump make its electrical growling sound? Or, when you turn the key to on is it dead quiet? Its common for the PCM to fail and would cause this. You would know by no sounds when you turn the key to on until sometimes 1 minute later, sometimes 20 minutes later the fuel pump will kick on and growl and at the same time the check engine light comes on.

Ok, aside from that, if that is not your symptom, let us know when the last tune up was? Spark plugs, distributor cap/rotor, etc... You need to first pinpoint if this is a fuel issue or a spark issue. For weak spark it could be the cap/rotor, wires, plugs... For fuel restrictions it would be fuel pump or fuel filter or possibly a bad fillup with water in the gas.

If you crank it over for a minute (without it starting) then immediatly pull out a spark plug, is it wet or dry as a bone?

Have you changed the fuel filter lately? It might be time.

Nevermind, Go ahead and hand me the bonehead of the month award. I somehow managed to put DIESEL fuel instead of good old fashioned unleaded . So, I had to drop the tank (barrels of fun) and change the filter (again) not to mention refuel with the proper petro. Any other suggestions? I actually dont think that this was my blunder but that the wrong fuel was in the unleaded tank at the gas station so I'm waiting to hear of more cases like mine before I can act on it.
