Also, when you turn the key to "on" can you hear the fuel pump make its electrical growling sound? Or, when you turn the key to on is it dead quiet? Its common for the PCM to fail and would cause this. You would know by no sounds when you turn the key to on until sometimes 1 minute later, sometimes 20 minutes later the fuel pump will kick on and growl and at the same time the check engine light comes on.
Ok, aside from that, if that is not your symptom, let us know when the last tune up was? Spark plugs, distributor cap/rotor, etc... You need to first pinpoint if this is a fuel issue or a spark issue. For weak spark it could be the cap/rotor, wires, plugs... For fuel restrictions it would be fuel pump or fuel filter or possibly a bad fillup with water in the gas.
If you crank it over for a minute (without it starting) then immediatly pull out a spark plug, is it wet or dry as a bone?
