91 YJ headlights not working

Installed a new head unit yesterday and now both headlights don't work. Checked the 20A under the hood and it is good. The parking lights, turn signals, brakes, interior and everything work fine. Just the headlights, and the brights do not work. When I pull back on the multiple function lever, the high beam indicator on the dash will illuminate as long as the lever is held back, but it will not lock back. It snaps back to normal position as soon as it is released. I replaced both headlights, and cleaned the contacts. Any help would be much appreciated.

check to see if you still have power at the switch, you may have pinched or shorted something when you in the dash

The headlight stem does not stay back but will return to the front....not like newer vehicles
