93 YJ sound system

The previous owner installed a deck and all the wiring is done, but he did not prefer to jam bc he said that he's a redneck, so there are no speakers.

Do I need to buy something with a specific connecter and plug it into the wires in the back??

Is the aftermarket faceplate already installed? if its already installed but theirs no speakers then you will need to run wires from the deck to the speakers

Yeah, it's aftermarket. And I think he wired it for a roll cage sound bar, that's why the connector behind the passenger seat looks kind of funny. I want to get a new deck and rewire it, though. Then possibly take the old wires out as well.

I have a feeling that wiring speakers in this beast will be easier and a lot less complicated than in a car with more crap to get around.

Could be,without looking at the wiring its kind of hard to tell, what does the connector look like? and yes I have wired many car stereos, the stereos are a breeze in these vehicles on my YJ a total of 8 screws and my stereo is out , plus you dont have all that plastic paneling and stuff to wire through. Best bet to me would be take out all the old wires so their out of sight/out of mind and run yourself some new wires. I think thats what im going to have to do to mine also as when i turn the stereo past volume 18 the radio restarts and if its not a bad ground or too powerful of speakers without an amp im going to rewire mine.

Yeah, I've done wiring in quite a few different cars. My 01 Malibu way back when, my friend's 99 Accord (that was fun), my 03 Accord. Now a new project. I guess I'll just take out the old wires.

As for the connector, it's flat and wide with four holes. The wires connected are these: two green, one red, and one black.... or is it five holes with two black??

For all I know, I cannot wire speakers directly to the stereo, but I'm not worried about that right now.
