94 hard to shift when cold

My 94 is a bit tough to shift when I first start driving after it has set for a few hours. It's most noticeable for first and second gears. You've really got to give it a solid pull to get it in second. Once I've driven it a few minutes, it gets much better. Is this a sign of a tranny problem in the making? My YJ is the I6 5 speed.
