94' is getting lifted!

Here is my plan, approved by the wife last night

First step is a rough country 4" lift kit (spring kit w/everything) Around $450 plus $125 to ship. ($575 total...) +$200 to have the kit installed. Also comes with Nitro 8000 shocks.

Secondly, ordering 5 black rims 15x10 - Around $550...

Third, 5 Goodyear Wranglers 33x12.5x15 - $166 each for $830

Should be pretty sweet, not to huge but plenty of space under there! Anyone else running 33x12.5x15? or 33x14x15? or 33x10.5x15? Show me some of your pics!

Im liking these tires... (There $161 not $166 like I thought) for pretty much all around everything in MI. Snow, Mud, you name it.

Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac

The rims are just like those pictured above in the example but the ones I like are black.

If you have the space and tools, get a couple of friends and a pizza delivered and do the lift install yourself. Not a real big job if you have the basics.

My neighbor is also a really good friend, they wheel as well and have a muddy pond We plan to do it in his heated garage. I told him I'd throw him $200 for doing it... I plan to help out as much as I can.

haggle with the dealer on the freight...play one against the other (like get a quote from 4X4, tell them Quadratec has better deal, then call Quadratec, ask them to meet the deal or give you free freight...check with JC Whitney, they always offer free freight)
I hope you have a 6 cyl in the 94...because a 4 cyl isn't going to get you down the highway on those big tires! It just doesn't have the gearing. At least my 94 with 5 speed doesn't...had to go back to smaller 31's. As for the rims-if you are doing any offroading, go for the 8" wide, not 10". You want that extra sidewall flex offroading. I"m running 33" x 12.5" x 15" Cepek crushers on my 03 Rubicon, on 15" x 8" rims and when I air down, I have all the flex I need for rock climbing around here.

really considering the 33x12.5x15 (8) wide -vs- the (10) wide. Been reading a lot about the + and - of each.

These are the ones we're looking at now. Its either these are all black.
Ultra Baja Champ Black w/Mach Lip

Not bad for $106 each...

allright guys, heres my funding required for this project. I plan to take it in three steps over the next 6-10 weeks. First, Im ordering the kit because it will take at least 3-4 weeks for delivery... Second, rims and third tires. Im also getting (5) rims listed below and (5) of the tires w/'em.

The rims cost $530.00 + $63.58 shipping = $593.58
Tires cost $805.00 + $118.40 = $923.40
Lift Kit $448.99 + $125 = $573.99
$200 for someone else to do the hard work...

Total amount is $2,290.97

Probably get me a few rim locks and some more ammo for my glock to go w/'em!

yeah I understand that! Im doing the lift first, hoping to not have to run stock wheels for to long before I can get the dough for the rims and tires. Need to spread it out over the next couple months or sell some other shtuff. They look so dorky with a lift and little tires!

One of my drum lesson students builds 4x4s with his dad, he mentioned today that I can bring the jeep into a dealer to have the speedometer re-calibrated with the new larger tires. Anyone know about it???

Thanks!!!

...also taking the advice to get the 8" instead of the 10" rims. If I had gone with 14 wide instead of 12.5 maybe, but the 8" will be better for me based off everything I've been reading. After you mentioned that I did a bunch of research and yeah, sounds good w/8's.

I sure do... & I sling mud all up on my hood. It doesn't take much to get it dirty. I replaced the factory flares with more factory flares, but I just wasn't thinking... Looking at some 6" bushwackers, or similar. TAG makes some pretty nice knock offs for under $200!

I'm on the hunt again.... DOH! I was wondering whats up w/my order so I popped into JC Whitney.com and checked order status. (Glad I did not wait the three to four weeks like they asked)

My order was cancelled today, "Parts are no longer available, out of stock"

Darn it... Wheres the best place to order a rough country 4"?

I went to Suspension Lift Kits, Body Lifts, Leveling Kit, 4x4, Jeep, Chevy, Dodge, Ford, Off-road Truck and got a good deal.

By having free shipping, I was able to order the 4" lift kit without JC Whitneys $125 freight charge. Instead, I spend an extra $100 on all four stainless steel brakelines and the Nitro-9000 shock upgrade.

I'll check out the Cragars... Thanks!

The lift kit arrived today, I got the springs and a couple boxes... Still need to order rims and tires. Waitin' on a check to come in. I also got a Rancho dampener shock for the front. The Rancho's are Silver now instead of White...

OMG I'm getting excited now. It makes me want to go out in the snow and start putting parts on. well... I don't want to that bad I guess!!! I'll wait for the neighbor to call me back when his heated garage is available within the next few days.
