94 renegade alternator problem

4.0 HIGH OUTPUT. VOLT METER READS ABOUT 9V WITH ENGINE RUNNING. THE BATTERY READS 13+V STATIC. REMOVING THE POS CABLE WHILE RUNNING CAUSES THE ENGINE TO DIE. IS THERE A FUSABLE LINK THAT CAN CAUSE THIS OR IS IT AN AUTOMATIC ALTERNATOR CHANGE?

Not sure, but do the headlights look a little dim with the engine running? That usually means it's not charging.

Take it out & have it tested for free at Autozone or Advance Auto.

use jumper cables to overlay from battery to alternator. that will tell you if you have a bad link, wires, connections, or a bad alternator.

i dont trust the voltage gauge in any car. buy or borrow a fluke meter and check voltage.
