94 Wrangler w/ AX-5 grinds when putting into gear?

Any ideas what would cause this? I had this problem with my last AX-5. Eventually I lost first gear and shortly after lost 3rd. I bought a used AX-5 and swapped them out and the new one is STILL grinding when going into gear. Any suggestions?

X2 and that tranny does not like water either. I gave up after a few replacements and switched to the TJ NV3550

When you are stopped the synchronizers don't do anything. If it is grinding then the input shaft is turning, hence the clutch isn't fully disengaging. NEW, QUALITY clutch, master, and slave.

True, but if the input shaft is still spinning then the synchroes should function as designed and match the speeds to prevent any grinding. I think he has dual issues, both with the clutch not fully disengaging and the synchroes being worn out.
