94 YJ 6cyl spits & sputters

I just purchased a 94 Wrangler YJ w/ 4.0 5 speed it idles great, but as soon as I drive it it wants to bog out and sputter like its running out of gas. If I let off the gas it will smooth out for a second as soon as I get back on the throttle it goes right back to sputtering. Here's what I've tried: fuel filter, dist cap, plugs, plug wires, drained gas tank, removed injectors cleaned in a pan of gas w/ a toothbrush re installed. It ran great for a few miles then back to sputter mode. Any ideas on what to try would be greatly appreciated!

Fuel pump? And you examined the throttle body right?

I think I will try and borrow a fuel pressure guage and check it but I'm not sure what the correct pressures should be

That's a good idea. I'd still be skeptical of the fuel pump. I had a new one blow after a month on a 98 mustang. It sucked. Any loss of compression? That'd be a good diagnostic to run as well. You can borrow this crap from oreilly.

spit and sputter resolved! dropped the tank a couple of times, cleaned the injectors and throttle body. ended up being a bunch of crud in the tank. I pressure washed it out and let it dry out in the sun, put it back together. Running smooth now.
