95 4cyl yj rear end help!

So I have a 95 4cyl jeep wrangler and I was comming down a mountain pretty fast today and took a turn too fast. Point of the story is I got airborne while I was sliding sideways and when the jeep landed it bent my rear left rim and axle.... I'm really upset about this and want to fix it ASAP.... I already put the spare on in hopes that the rim took all the damage but to my misfortune the jeep still has a minor wobble when I drive.... Anyways this.is my first jeep and I have no idea what rear end it has... I think its a Dana 35.... But I want to know if anyone on here knows if I'm right ? What are the stock rear ends for 1995 4cyl 5 speed jeep wrangler yjs?... Please help! Thanx for any input....

Only factory rear axle for any model YJ was the D35.

Yup, the notorious Dana 35. Why were you trying to drive your Jeep like a race car????

First you need to figure out if the axle tube is bent or the axle. Axle cheap and easy fix. Tube bent now that's a bad one. You would need to find a new rear end. Depending on money and availablty of parts you got afew options. 1 find another 4cyl and use that rear end cheapest option but the rear end is hard to find. 2 upgrade to either Ford 8.8 or Dana 44 then rear gear it best option but requires money, and fab work.

I'd swap in a junkyard axle shaft first. If you still have the wobble, you probably will need a complete rear axle.

Check your springs, shackles, shock mounts and trac bar (if you still have it) too.

I heard that Canadian YJs had a Dana 44 option avail at one time. There was a guy on craigslist trying to sell one not too long ago

To check the axle jack up the rear put stands under it to be safe, you have all ready put on a known strait wheel run slow in 2 Hi and see what wobbles, you could have bent the other side also, if the one with the strait wheel still wobbles it your axle. GL

I always thought I should ride the brakes on downhills... boy was I wrong. Fortunately youtube videos steared me away from that! Always gear super low and use the gears to creep down the hill with brakes only when needed. Remember "creep" down the hill.

Im sure you won't forget it! That had to be a scary ride.
