95 Clutch issue

95 4-cyl 5 spd. Lately it is sometimes hard to get into gear. It's acting like the clutch is not releasing. This came evident last night as sitting at a stop light, it start inching forward. The pedal feels like it sticks about half way up sometimes and then releases and comes all the way up. When it acts like this, you just about kill it trying to take off. I am thinking it is the clutch cylinder rather than the disc itself. If it is the cylinder, do I have to pull the trans to get to it? I have never worked on the trans and need a little advice before I tear into it, lol.

I have a 94 Yj and I am pretty sure that it is exactly like yours. The slave is probably your problem, luckily it is located externally and very easy to get to. On the firewall inside the engine compartment there is a small master cylinder right beside the brake power booster, follow the black tube from it and that will lead to the slave on the drivers side of the bellhousing almost directly under your right foot as you drive. 2 13mm nuts hold it on, pretty easy huh? Now it gets a little harder. There is a small pin that holds the plastic tube onto the slave cylinder. You have to find something that diameter to press it out with a small nail or whatever. Watch the o-ring on the tube make sure not to damage it. Take slave to parts store get another and reverse order assy. bleed and you're good.

Find a old input shaft at the junkyard. Buy a new clutch kit with the tool use tool and return it. Second suggestion at your discretion.

I just finish putting a dual friction force clutch on my 92 jeep wrangler and all the gears catch on very good except for 3rd gear it grinds and my clutch pedal it feels very loose when I press it in like if it had air in the line but I never loosed or removed the clutch master cylinder lines and none of my other gears grind only third gear and if I power shift nothing grinds only when I press the clutch it grinds only on 3rd. Does anyone knows what's wrong with it?
