95 Jeep Wrangler YJ auto trans. problem

When I set the shift handle to 2nd and Drive positions it seems like both are in Low speed. Neutral and Reverse shift positions are normal. I don't know what is the transmission model. Engine is a straight 6 cyl. Any help is much appreciated on my auto transmission problem. Already tried changing transmission oil and filter, but still the same.

Linkage adjustment??? Was it working before??? Maybe take it to a shop and have them give you an estimate.

I know on my auto sometimes, once its in gear D or 2 etc.. I have to tap it again to lock it in almost.. if not.. its sort of gets between the two and acceleration is off for some reason.. again not every time but enough to be noticed.
