95 yj 2.5 engine squeal

This sounds like a belt or or a bad pulley bearing but is not. Removed the serpintine belt and the squeal is still there.Noise doesn't change if you step on the clutch. Any ideas.

Where is the noise coming from? The front of the engine or rear. If the belt is off and the noise persists then you have eliminated the water pump, alternator, idler and power steering. Only a few things left .... the distributor, throwout bearing or pilot bearing...I have never heard of a main bearing etc squealing but I guess they could...
How is the oil level in engine and trans?

I've had this squeal, under load, for a year and got rid of it last weekend.
Imagine my relief.
I was lucky: my distributor cap was loose and whistling all dizzy noise out of it.
I waited a year to do a 10 second fix because like Gary said I eliminated belts/tranny/etc but forgot the dizzy...

Thanks for the replies everybody. I found the problem. It was a missing bolt on the intake manifold. Put in a new one, squeal is gone. Never would of thought a vac leak on the intake would squeal like that. Thanks again
