Angry 95 Yj Power Issues

i got a 95 2.5L and its slow as a moped. What can I do to help improve power without an engine swap? i already have cold air intake, chipped ecu, and im putting the electric fan conversion on it

Regear, 4.0 throttle body swap, and there should be more. Somebody with a 2.5 will chime in soon.

If you wanted power, you bought the wrong vehicle. Your jeep is perfect for trails and offroading, but it is not a speedy animal.

I feel your pain, bro. I've got a `95 2.5. It does a mind-blowing, screaming eagle 77 mph DOWNHILL!

Anything more than that would scare me in a wrangler anyway.Besides that, mud terrains aren't really ideal for speed, either.

I have read that putting 19# injectors help alot with higher rpm 3,500 all the way to 6,000, i just ordered some off ebay for $25 shipped, 4.0L throttle body is another, and if you really want to i heard that with a 2.5 and 33" tires it should have 4.88 to 5.13 gears in it but that will hurt the highway speed if thats what you are looking for. Check out 4bangerjp.com, thats where i have found alot of info for our little motors!!!

regear, and 4.88 is the biggest you can fit in stock axles. i've owned that stallion of a motor, its a horse, and goes forever. but i would not waste much money on it. regear, 4.0 tb if you want. otherwise the gains vs. money is just not there. i have nothing bad to say about that motor, but after owning 4.0's, i'll never buy another 2.5.

either love it for what it is, or keep your money and swap in a better driveline.

Hey guys, just checking in. I fixed my screaming eagle problem...I traded the 95 2.5 for a new DODGE CHALLENGER! No fear, I'm buying a "new" YJ tomorrow. If you decide that you want to sell the 2.5, let me know...I got so many calls from my add about the Jeep, people are begging me to find another one to sell.

Just my .02, a cold air intake on a wrangler makes a gravel driveway a dangerous offroad experience...
