95 YJ Power steering trouble with instal of new Steering Stabalizer

Hello,
I have a 95 2.5 liter YJ with stock suspension.
I recently installed all 4 new Monroe shocks.
All went well.
I decided I should go ahead and install a new Monroe steering stabilizer.
After installing the new steering stabilizer, I am now getting a groan from the power steering pump when turning. Especially when standing still and turning the wheel. Very similar sound to when you turn your wheel all the way to one side as far as you can go.

It was mild at first, but now it seems to have increased with the cold weather.
The pump is laboring very hard and I can feel it in the steering.
Is it possible the new stabilizer is just too stiff or defective?
Can this damage my power steering pump if not taken care of quickly?

I had no problems prior to installing the new stabilizer.

If anyone has had a similar issue please let me know how you took care of it.

Thanks

Just my experience:

The pump / rack was likely wearing out but with a weak or dead stabilizer you had no idea. Now, using one with resistance the pump is working harder and showing signs of it's age.

Are you seeing any new leaks in the system?

I have NOT identified any leaks.
There is fluid in the pump.
After further listening the groan or growl is always there..Faint while wheels are straight ahead and then the growl kicks into high gear when turning the wheel while standing.
Thanks

If you mean the idle when you are turning the steering wheel, you bet. If you mean the idle while the Jeep is sitting there and you aren't doing anything, I don't think so.

How can the power steering pump be diagnosed?...I am prepaired to replace, but if it is not the pump, it would be a waste of time.

Swap it out with a buddies, or? would be the easiest way. I have a spare one you can have, it is off of a 83 CJ. Let me compare it against my 90 and see if there is any major difference. If not, just pay for shipping and it is yours.

Good deal!

I was just about to post that the pump was the same, but better that you found one local.
