alright, so what i got out of this, as a quick get to the point-er, is that the bulb is the actual (aircraft landing light), any light housing,(such as one laying around) that i can fit the bulb in with/without rubber housing that holds a par 36 can be used? and of course the wiring and all that.

correct, incorect,? u tell me

p.s. sounds great, very interested, and would like to use winsheild mounts

yes, correct except the par36 is the rubber housing designation.

With 2x 100w landing lights and 4x 35w normal par36 lights all over the windshield it is like daylight... i cant imagine if i change out 2 of them for 2 more 100w bulbs.... dang.

I installed 2 par 34 lights with the aircraft landing light bulbs ge 4509. Wow, they burn like the sun. I put them up front next to my winch on each side and ran wire back to a relay I mounted near the battery. I also installed a dash switch that goes to the relay. I tapped into the radio for the switch power so the light cannot be left on after the key is turned off. The TJ has the 117 amp alternator and the gauge does not move when I turn on the two 100 watt bulbs. Looks like these will work well even though they have a short bulb life.

I thought the same thing after I got mine together. Ended up using windex as a lubricant and motorcycle tire removal tool. Its a little wider and will grab the inside of the rubber housing. The windex lets it slide around a little easier.

They last way longer than that. I have at least 40 hours on mine and still going strong. Not sure why they list them so low...

Someone on here mentioned the 15 $ Walmart lights and I can't find the post again... Do the aircraft landing lights fit in these housings?

You don't need actual aircraft grade bulbs. Just a par36 size. The 4509 is a standard bulb. That's pretty bright in that specific size.

UPDATE: you can now buy par36 LED bulbs from various places. Just search them online to find the one you want. They will be brighter, less power draw, and different color options.
