ALternator Help!

Hey Guys,
I have a 92 jeep wrangler and it is not starting, it acts like it wants to start and it comes close but just dosent do it. My starter and battery are good so I figure it must be my alternator. I have the chilton book but it does not show where to locate the alternator, only the steps in changing one.

Can anyone take a pic or describe to me where the alternator is??
I have a straight 6 with a 4.0.

-Thanks for any help!!

On the I6-4.0 it sits driver's side of the motor in the top position.

It would have nothing to do with starting though????? Everything to do with recharging your battery. I would look at things like are you getting spark to the plugs, fuel, etc.

my battery was like 89% charged when I went in to have it checked, so you think the alternator is not at fault?

It has gas in it, how do I tell if it is getting spark to the plugs?
