Alternator prefrances???

So long story short, I am about to replace my second new alternator. First had a bad volt regulator and this one stopped charging after 5 min. So what brand do y'all suggest?

Mean green is the top of the line, but it comes with a high price tag as well. AC/Delco is a normal choice, depending on what you want it to do.

Stock replacement? Bigger amps for extra electrical equipment? off road lights, winch, etc.

With a 2.5L, you would have to go with something aftermarket if you want bigger amps. The mounting brackets are different than that of a 4.0L. Or, if you can adapt the mounting brackets you can get an alternator out of a GC with the V8 and towing package....it's 136 amp. I believe yours is around 60amp?

73 is possible, I don't know what the stock 2.5L alternator actually is, amp wise.

I know that on my 4.2L I have 65 amp stock, 90 amp high output, but the 136 amp from the GC will fit right on it.
