Another clutch question

95 YJ, AX15, I6,
Having intermittent clutch engagement problems. Driving along, pedal goes spongy to complete wall banger yet returns to solid at other times. Pulled slave and can see no evidence of leak. Checked boot area from master cylinder and line leading to slave and can find no evidence of a leak. Bled the system to no avail. Maybe I'm missing something so i thought i would ask..
