There is a little more to setting the carb than just having the correct jets which is important. Timing must be correct. You must set the fuel/air mixture screws based upon vacuum. You need to set idle correctly at around 720 rpm. Also, you cannot have other issues such as vacuum leaks. Search this forum or the web for details on setting this carb. A lot of good info available. Good luck.

X2

Rough idle can be result of many things, Timing is one, Jet size is another, Float setting is a third, Vacuum leaks a third, dirty fuel filter a fourth, Spark plug gap a fifth bad spark plug wires.

So tell us everything you have checked first.

Also what size is the venturii because 46 to 48 is a swag based on your engine and compression and alot of things...best way to check if jets are right is run a quarter mile turn engine off do not let it idle and pull a spark plug is it black too rich to big a jet size, is it all white to lean not big enough a jet size light brown close to perfect.....but that is after you fix all the other potential issues.

Well...I think I've found my problem. I used a tdp 2089. this adapter on the back side instead of being a straight Line going across to the it's just got ears going all the why around to mount the carb. Well the front of the carb has the ears or tabs that match up but the back side it's square and has a gap that I think is sucking air...kinda hard to explain but I'll try to get a pic. Instead of the 2150 i might have to just go and buy the 2100 instead...anyone have some part numbers or years I could use??
