Arrow Aussie or Spartan Locker

I'm looking to put a locker in my D-30. I have decided on either an Aussie or Spartan.

The Aussie does not come with a hardened cross pin and it requires thrust washers. Is it safe to re-use the cross pin and thrush washer that are in there now?

Spartan comes with a hardened cross pin and does not use the thrush washers and is a little more money. Everywhere I have read said that it was a simpler install.

The only thing I don't like is the Spartan appears to be an import product and the Aussie is made here.

Anyone have experience with re-using the cross pin and thrush washers in their Aussie? Am I better off just ignoring the country of origin and getting the Spartan to eliminate all questions?

Looking for feedback and any installation tips!

I have been running an Aussie in my D30 for about 3 years and not a single problem. I love the way it works to allow me to walk up obsticals that I used to need momentum to get over. Go Aussie and you will be happy. Oh, and I am running 33" tires and stock 3.07 gearing.

Jeff

I had an Aussie in my TJ for a few years. I recently removed it and put it in my YJ (going ARB in TJ) It still looked like new with absolutely zero visible wear when I pulled it. I loved the traction gains from the Aussie, but I didn't much care for winter driving with it in the TJ.

Can't go wrong with either really. I run an Aussie in my D30 and it was an easy install. Works perfectly.

I just chose Aussie over the Spartan for my YJ. Everyone here recommended Aussie when I asked about it.

I have had no issues with my Spartan in my d 35.

I'd say get which ever is cheaper.

You guys that installed the Aussie, did you have to replace the thrush washers and the cross pin or did you use the one that was in the diff?

Used the stock cross pin and washers. As long as they are in good shape, you should be fine.
